Highlights for November 2017

November Summary

Georgia College’s State of the State pull received significant coverage including two features by the Atlanta Journal Constitution, possibly due to the surprising results of the poll which state that Georgian’s are in favor of legalized gambling and marijuana, and against the recent “campus carry” bill passed earlier this year.

Other top news were the high school students who signed their letters of intent to play sports at GC. This received a wide coverage over print, television, and social media.

Our office completed 135 design and print jobs for 49 clients this month, earning a total revenue of $20,606.01. We also served 25 clients for photography jobs.

Social Media Highlights

Overall number of impressions decreased across the board. However, our engagement was up almost 30% for the month of November. This is due to visually appealing and interesting stories being posted to our profile this month. Our viral impressions also did well this month which helped increase engagement because people who don’t necessarily follow our brand saw our message through others. Content performed the best on Instagram due to its visual content structure. Linked In saw the most growth this month with 235 new followers. Being more intentional on Linked In with our stories that are more career focused has allowed the brand to reach a different audience than our traditional platforms and it can be a growth driver for Grad School progams.

Television Hits

The dominant topic on local television was the new signups for sports teams at Georgia College, with a number of stations devoting air time to highlighting up-and-coming GC tennis, basketball, softball, volleyball, and baseball stars. The other subject that earned an impressive number of both television and print hits was a poll from GC that demonstrated that a majority of Georgia residents favor the legalization of marijuana. Those stories are highlighted above the break.
